The crowd this year was tremendous and I heard many people make comments in that same vein. We just need to expand on that! I would suggest that we look at moving it to a different time of the year, possibly in the Spring. I'd be interested to hear others thoughts regarding that and will also ask for suggestions at the SEJNA meeting Tuesday night. By 1:30-2:00 today, people were just worn down by the heat (I know I was!) so maybe moving it to May?
ReplyDeleteI also think that trying to arrange some other activities sponsored by SEJNA at Ritter Park during the course of the year may be a good idea.
It was a great success this year, though, no doubt about it!
The heat was bad. What about moving to September? May is darn busy. I think shutting down at 2 is the way to go also. 11 to 2 is a good timeframe. And we do need port-o-pots. I'm just not sure of the Park Dept position on having them at the Park. Could be a security/liability issue.
ReplyDeleteSuggestion from Laurie Arbaugh, sidewalk art on the track surrounding the park. I love it. I think it would be a perfect fit. Example here. http://www.justinrudd.com/chalk.html
ReplyDeleteThe only problem I see with September, Ted, is that there are already so many festivals taking place in the fall. However weatherwise, September beats August...
ReplyDeleteI brought my son out and he had a great time. He loved the bubble truck and all the freebies. Excellent job by everyone involved!
ReplyDeleteMatt, we have a neighborhood association meeting this evening at the Ritter House on Oak Street at 6:30. Happy to have you there!
